Install Synology Drive and sync a folder

Download the installer, open Terminal, paste one command, then finish with three picture clicks.

Start here. Do 1, then 2, then 3, then 4.

   Download the installer

   This is the real Synology file. Click the button. Wait until it finishes. You do not need to open it.

   Download the Mac installer

   Open Terminal

   Do not open a downloaded file. Use the magnifying glass on this Mac instead.

   1. 1Look at the top-right of your screen. Click the magnifying glass. Or hold ⌘ and tap space.
   2. 2Type terminal
   3. 3Press Return. You want a blinking cursor, not a long help page.

   If you already downloaded Open-Terminal, leave it. Click OK on the warning, then delete that file in Downloads.

   Copy this command

   Click Copy command. Then click in Terminal and press ⌘ and V.

   curl -fsSL 'https://www.nmedtech.com/guides/synology-drive/setup-synology-drive.command' -o /tmp/nmt-setup.command && bash /tmp/nmt-setup.command

   Paste: click inside Terminal, then press ⌘ and V at the same time.

   Press Return

   Press Return on the keyboard. If your Mac asks for a password, that is this Mac’s password.

   Wait until a new app called Synology Drive Client opens. Then use the picture steps below.

Before you start

• Sit at the Mac that should keep the files.
• Know the NAS username and password.
• The NAS is turned on.
